Jump Serve!

Hey everybody! Today I'm going to talk about jump serves. If you don't already know how to serve overhand on the ground I don't recommend jump serving it's so much harder. First you have to get in the rhythm of the approach. Just like jump hitting you need your approach. The steps to your approach are left, right, left, jump, hit. make sure when you jump the leg that comes out is the opposite than your dominate hand. That gives you more practice. Practice this without the ball first. Once you get in the rhythm of the approach it's time to pick up a ball! Find a wall where there are no windows or anything you could break. Do your approach with the ball and start by hitting it to the ground. Once you got that down move farther back and try hitting the wall instead of hitting it to the ground. Once you get about 30 feet away from the wall and hit the ball high you are jump serving! You see how much harder this is than a down ball? (Not jumping staying on ground serve) I'm going to include my jump serve if you want to see how I jump serve. My jump serve I bring my right foot out when I need to be bringing my left foot out and that's a bad habit that I need to break. Another good blog on volleyball is Growing the Game Together.
